Privacy Policy
🔒Our commitment to your privacy
AntiOverthinking is a personal mental-wellness app. Your thoughts, moods, and progress are private by design — they live on your device, not on our servers. This policy explains exactly what we collect, what we don’t, and how to remove your data at any time.
By using AntiOverthinking you agree to the practices described here. If you disagree with anything, please stop using the app and contact us to delete your account.
📋Data we collect
We collect the minimum information needed to create and identify your account:
- Email address — used to sign in and to contact you if you request account deletion.
- Display name — the name you choose when registering, shown inside the app.
Both are managed by Firebase Authentication (Google LLC) and are never stored on our own servers beyond what Firebase provides.
📱Data stored only on your device
Everything you write or track in the app is saved in your device’s local storage (AsyncStorage). It never leaves your phone unless you uninstall the app.
- Journal entries — title, body, mood, tag, and date
- Daily mood check-ins
- Exercise history — which exercises you completed and when
- Streaks and progress — calculated from local activity data
- App preferences — any settings you configure
🔗Third-party services
AntiOverthinking uses one third-party service for authentication:
- Firebase Authentication (Google LLC) — handles secure sign-in with email/password, Google Sign-In, and Sign in with Apple. Firebase may store your email address and authentication tokens on Google infrastructure. See Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy and Firebase’s terms at firebase.google.com/terms/data-processing-terms .
We use no advertising networks, no analytics SDKs, and no crash-reporting services that would transmit your data to third parties.
🚫What we never do
- No ads Never — we do not show advertisements or work with ad networks.
- No behavioural tracking Never — we do not track how you navigate the app or build usage profiles.
- No data selling Never — we do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes.
- No background data collection Never — the app does not collect data when it is not in use.
🗑️Deleting your data
You have the right to delete your account and all associated data at any time.
- In-app: Go to Profile → Delete Account. This removes your Firebase Authentication record immediately. All locally stored data is cleared from your device when you uninstall the app.
- By email: Send a deletion request to hello@antioverthinking.com. We will process your request within 30 days.
👶Children’s privacy
AntiOverthinking is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us at hello@antioverthinking.com and we will delete the account promptly.
🛡️Security
Authentication is handled by Firebase, which uses industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest) for the credentials it stores. Your in-app content (journal entries, mood data) never leaves your device, so it is not exposed to network-level risks.
📄Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. For significant changes we will notify you via the email address on your account. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
